KOHAT: The security forces and police in a joint operation on Wednesday arrested 63 suspects from surrounding areas of the Kohat University of Science and Technology and in the city and also recovered weapons from some of them.

The operation was conducted in Khrotabad, Khawasi Banda, Tangi Banda and Wazir Kallay during which house-to-house search was made.

Several suspects were also arrested from the city areas of Hafizabad, Garhi Dhodiwal, Garhi Mawaz Khan and Bilal Garhi. The people held during the action were taken to Jarma and city police stations where cases were registered against those keeping illegal weapons and non-natives residing in rented buildings and not submitting their bio data to the respective police stations.

SCHEMES REVIEWED: Commissioner Kohat division Musarat Hussain said on Wednesday that the government was paying attention to make departments as platforms to deliver to the masses. He was speaking to mediapersons and representatives of nation building departments during his visit to the under-construction buildings of the press club and district headquarters hospital in Hangu. He said that the government was trying to make the officials real servants of the people. He asked the officials to ensure timely completion of both the projects.

He said that the government would ensure provision of all facilities to mediapersons so they could discharge duties in a better environment.
