BADIN: The vice chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has said that people want to get rid of the prevailing corrupt system and change is inevitable.

He was speaking at a gathering of followers of Ghousia Jamaat and PTI workers and supporters who arrived here from remote areas of the district and waited for over six hours in scorching heat at DC Chowk to hear their leader.

The PTI launched a massive rally to highlight the menace of corruption.

The rally started from Karachi and reached Badin late on Tuesday night before moving to other parts of the province.

Mr Qureshi said the nation faced massive corruption and people had become so fed up with the menace that they had rejected outright the existing system which served only the corrupt coterie.

Unfortunately, people of Sindh were not benefitting from the additional billions of rupees the province was now receiving as part of NFC award as the huge amount was swallowed up by the corrupt hook, line and sinker, he said.

He asked the gathering if any development had been made in their areas the participants replied in unison in the negative.

Mr Qureshi who was accompanied by party leaders Haleem Adil Shaikh, Arif Alvi and others thanked Dr Zulfikar Mirza for his support of the rally in which hundreds of councillors and their supporters took part.

He said that from here on the rally would now go to Mirpurkhas and Sukkur and finally hold a public meeting at Kamoo Shaheed to mobilise people against corruption.

He said that PPP leadership should not be worried by his tour and deplored sorry state of affairs in drought-hit Thar. He vowed to change the fate of Tharis.

SANGHAR: At Sanghar where the PTI rally arrived on Wednesday, the party vice chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi accused the Sindh government of being involved in selling jobs.

He said the physical infrastructure of the province was in ruins, FIRs were being registered against political opponents and the poor was getting poorer and the rich richer.

He said that he was shocked to see the dilapidated condition of roads in Sanghar and Mirpurkhas and elsewhere in the province although the Sanghar district was rich in oil and gas resources.

He said the development funds of Sanghar were being embezzled, which had led to deteriorating state of infrastructure and civic services network.
