MUMBAI: Former Indian captain and one of the greatest players Sachin Tendulkar turned 43 on Sunday, and decided to celebrate it by doing what he loves the most, playing cricket.

The Master Blaster played street cricket with children in Mumbai.

Tendulkar spent the day by playing cricket with children from the Make-A-Wish India foundation at the MIG Club and taught them the basics of batting, bowling and fielding.

He posted a video on his official Facebook page. Make-A-Wish works with terminally-ill children across the globe!

The legendary right-hander quit international cricket in November 2013 after a career spanning 24 years during the Test match against West Indies at the Wankhede Stadium.

Tendulkar is the leading run-scorer in Tests and ODIs. In 200 Tests, the maestro has 15,921 runs while in 463 ODIs, he has 18,426 runs. He is the only cricketer to have hit 100 international centuries.

He is the only cricketer to have hit 100 international centuries, and the first to score a double century in ODIs.

Tendulkar received India’s highest civilian award Bharat Ratna from the President Pranav Mukherjee in 2014. He is the youngest recipient to date and the first ever sportsperson to receive the award.
