Murree village

Published April 20, 2016

I BELONG to Tewal village in Murree, which is also the hometown of our petroleum minister. There is not a single high school in this village which has a population of at least 10,000 people.

Moreover, there is a basic healthcare unit with no staff and facilities to cope up with emergency situations. Villagers have been facing water shortage for a long time and winters are the cruellest punishment for them. With no access to gas, poor people are forced to burn wood, destroying the nature.

Promises have been made to turn this village into a modern and an ideal village but they remain mere promises even after three years of tenure of this democratic government.

I wonder what is it which is taking the government so long to work for the betterment of the people.
