KOHAT: Deputy commissioner Zahir Shah has said that those preaching against the use of polio vaccination are enemies of the nation and strict action will be taken against such elements.

Chairing a meeting to review the arrangements for upcoming four-day anti-polio campaign starting from April 18, he said that no one would be allowed to disrupt the vaccination drive.

The meeting was attended by the assistant commissioners of Kohat and Lachi tehsil, health department officials and district khateeb Mufti Shafi.

Mr Shah said that all preparations had been made to provide security to the health staff. During the four-day drive 574 teams would administer polio vaccine to 191,000 children in 33 union councils of the district.

Earlier, the paramedics association also announced to end their boycott of the anti-polio drive following assurance by the administration to look into their just demands.

VILLAGERS’ DEMANDS: The people of Sodal union council here have demanded repair of Palosi Banda and Lachi-Veeshoram roads and other facilities for the area.
