ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Sunday announced results of the first pre-ITF Level 1 Green Badge Course which was held in Karachi in January this year.

A total of twenty five candidates including nine women coaches took part in the course. However, only 12 coaches could pass the course to earn the PTF National Green Badge Certification status.

According to the PTF, the successful candidates are: Uzma Waqar Khan, Zulfiqar Ali, Naveed Khan, Fahad Mehmood Khan, Asad Mehmood Khan, Mahiya Moin, Bushra Imran, Zarqa Ruby, Saqib Hussain, Akbar Ali Khan, Shakir Ali and Farha Riaz.

Earlier this year, the PTF has launched the National Coaches’ Education Programme offering latest coaching techniques as embodied in the ITF Coaching Manuals. Based on the guidelines contained in the ITF Coaching Systems the National Green Badge Coaching course was initiated.

“The inaugural Green Badge Certification Course was held in Karachi in the month of January this year and today we are announcing the results of first course,” said Secretary PTF Khalid Rehmani.

He said that PTF has planned to hold two more such certifications courses, one at Lahore from 29th April and the other later this year in Islamabad.

Pakistan Sports Board is the sponsor of PTF Coaches Education (Green Badge) National Coaches Certification Programme 2016.

ITF Level-3 Tutor Kamran Khalil was the main instructor whereas renowned physical trainer Nasrullah Rana and PSB Deputy Director academic wing Shahid Islam also delivered lectures during the four-day course.
