GUJRANWALA: A woman along with her lover strangled her husband in Baghbanpura here late on Friday night.

Reports said accused woman (Z) developed relations with Mohsin. Sometime back, Nadeem had caught his wife and Mohsin sitting together in his house. He admonished them and asked Mohsin not to visit again.

On Friday night, Nadeem was asleep when his wife and her lover Mohsin strangled him.

Police have registered a case against both the accused and are investigating.

BURN WOUNDS: A labourer suffered serious burn wounds when he set himself on fire over non-payment of his wages in a village in Ferozewala on Saturday.

Reports said Saeed Ahmad of Kotli Macheranwala village had not been paid for his labour by Muhammad Riaz for many days. In dejection, he sprinkled kerosene on his clothes and set himself ablaze.

He was admitted to the DHQ Hospital in a critical condition.

Police are looking into the matter.

ARRESTED: The Model Town police arrested on Saturday three youths for smoking sheesha at a restaurant in Lorry Adda area on Saturday.

Reports said SHO Amir Shaheen Gondal conducted a raid on the restaurant and arrested Majid, Ayaz and Afaq Ahmad for puffing sheesha.

A case has been registered against the three arrested youths.
