LAHORE: Universities are the ‘China-Pakistan Social, Cultural and Technology Corridor’ -- the mother corridor -- and only their effective networking will guarantee real success.

This was stated by Government College University (GCU) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Hassan Amir Shah and GCU Centre of Excellence, China Studies (CESC) Director Dr Khalid Manzoor Butt while addressing a delegation from the China University of Geosciences (CUG), says a press release.

The delegation comprised CUG Vice President Prof Fang Hao and others.

Prof Shah hoped CUG and GCU would jointly establish a strong foundation for academic networking of Sino-Pak universities which, besides technology transfer and innovation, was also mandatory for social and cultural integration of people of the two countries. He said GCU-CECS was facilitating CUG in networking with universities of Punjab and Balochistan.

CUG Vice President Prof Fang Hao said people of both counties had always filled cultural and language gaps with strong feelings of love and respect. However, he said a strong social and cultural integration of people of both countries did not seem far, but academicians had to play an effective role for this, the press release stated.
