KARACHI, Nov 8: Two men died, while six people were injured in two road traffic accidents in the city on Saturday.

A man died and six others injured, when two minibuses collided in Ancholi Society just before Iftar.

Police said that speeding minibuses, JE-6346 and JA-0575, which were trying to overtake each other, collided and one of them overturned. As a result, a passenger, later identified as Farhan, 45, died on the spot.

Six injured, who were taken to a hospital, were identified as Ramazan, 19, Ghulam, 30, Irfan, 33, Saba, 12, Parveen Rehan, 35, and her son Khurram, 10.

In another accident, an elderly motorcyclist died in a hit-and-run accident at I. I. Chundrigar Road.

Mithadar police said that Mohammadmian, 60, was going to deposit Rs13,000 to a bank, when he was hit by an unknown vehicle. He died on the spot.

The police said the cash was missing. The body was shifted to a hospital for autopsy and later handed over to his family for burial.
