KARAK: The students of Government Degree College Banda Daud Shah have asked the authorities to fill vacant posts of teachers and provide other basic facilities to the college.

The demand was made in a meeting of students held here on Monday with Raza Khan Khattak in the chair. The students said that posts of important science subjects were vacant in the college since long. They said that their studies were affected owing to shortage of teachers.

The students also complained about shortage of potable water in the college. They said that they were forced to fetch water in bottles from their homes. The road leading to the college also needed repair, they said. They demanded of the authorities to provide a bus to the college.

The participants of the meeting also demanded construction of a playground for the students. They said that students of the college could become members of different national teams if they were provided with the required facilities.

WATER: The elders of Dabb have demanded of the authorities to supply drinking water to the residents of the area from Zarakhel water reservoirs.

The elders including Hajat Shah, Roshan Ali and Mohammad Sadique told a press conference here on Monday that total population of the area was more than 25,000 but all the residents were facing acute shortage of drinking water.

They said that feasibility report of the scheme was already prepared. The previous government had approved funds for the drinking water scheme but could not start work on it due to some unknown reasons, they added.
