KARACHI: Ibrahim Iltifat, Ebad Sarwar and sameullah beat their respective rivals here on Friday in the second edition of Union Club Open ranking tennis championship which got under way here at the Union Club tennis courts.

Events including the men’s singles, juniors 17 singles, Under-13 and Under-9 competitions will be held in the tournament.

Men singles (1st round): Ibr­ahim Iltifat bt Bilal Ah­med 6-0.6-1; Saad Ahmed (PAF City) bt Ahmer Ahsan 6-2, 6-1; Shoaib Abbas bt Sam­eullah 6-2.6-3; Talha Sohail bt Azhar Qadir 7-5, 5-7, 10-6.

U-17 (1st round): Eibad Sarwar Khan bt Abdul Haseeb 6-1, 3-0 —retired.

U-15 (1st round): Sameullah bt Rohan Amir 6-1, 6-0; Noor -e-Mustafa bt Shahzian Rafi 6-0, 6-0.
