Story time: The magic egg

Published January 30, 2016

I was in deep sleep when the doorbell rang. I went to the door and on the welcome mat there was a package. A note on it said, “Dear Jamie, please keep this package. From Tom.”

I opened it and saw a weird thing in the package. I took it inside the house. I looked closely and found that this was a weird looking egg. I was shocked and upset that why my friend had sent me such a weird package.

The egg was somewhat bigger than the normal chicken eggs, it was red in colour and had dots on it. I hoped nothing too bad would hatch from the egg. I really wanted to know what would hatch and what secrets this egg held.

For the next few days nothing unusual happened, until Friday. The egg started shaking and it was soon cracking. I took the creature out of it put it in the wash basin. I washed the creature and inside it was a bird. The bird was rainbow coloured and it could sing very well so I decided to keep it.

After the bird was big enough to fly. I thought it was time to let it go and make it fly in the air. I left it in the open air and felt so happy that now this beautiful bird would be seen by other people too and it would be praised for its beauty.

Animals, too, should live in freedom and not in captivity.
