ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) on Monday announced to stage the second Kulsum Saifullah Khan National Ranking Tennis Championship from Jan 18 to 24 here at the PTF Complex.

According to the PTF, the tournament is expected to draw a large number of entries in several events. The draws for the said events will be held on the Jan 17 and the qualifying rounds will start on 18th.

Prize money totalling around Rs0.5 million has been announced for different categories in the championship including men’s singles and doubles, ladies’ singles, boys’ U-18, U-14, U-10, seniors-doubles open (45+) and executive seniors-doubles (60+).

No ‘professional player’ will be allowed to participate in the 60+ category this year in order to make the event more attractive for club players and diplomatic/expat community in and around the twin cities.

The last date to send entries is Jan 16. All affiliated units of the PTF and players are advised to send entries to Shehzad Akhtar Alvi, referee of the weeklong championship, or e-mail the entries to id.pktenfed@gmail.com.

The PTF release added that each outstation player of the main draw (singles category) would get Rs700 daily allowance until elimination from the day they play their first match.

Furthermore, all junior outstation (singles) players of the main draw will be entitled to get economy class railways return tickets.
