SHEIKHUPURA: An education department employee was gunned down at Matama village in Sharaqpur police station limits on Tuesday.

According police, the victim, Rehmat Ali, was returning home after performing his duty when some unidentified assailants opened fire on him. He died on the spot.

According to family sources, the deceased had no enmity with anyone in the area.

ACCIDENT: A woman was killed and two people sustained injuries in a road accident on Motorway near Kala shah Kaku interchange on Tuesday.

According to police, three members of a family were going to Lahore from Sargodha when one of the front tyres of their car burst.

As a result, the car overturned and one of the passengers, Zahra Bibi, died on the spot. Two other car occupants, Qaisar and Hanif, sustained serious injuries and were shifted to a hospital in Lahore.

Ferozewala police have started investigation.

PICKED UP: Muridky city police took into custody as many as 30 Afghan nationals in raids conducted in different parts of the town on Tuesday.

Those arrested were handed over to an investigation team for further interrogation, the police said.
