SIALKOT: EDO Health Dr Javaid Warraich found the two doctors and entire paramedical staff absent from duty during a raid at the Rural Health Centre of Begowala in Sambrial tehsil late on Monday night.
The EDO said show-cause notices had been issued to the two doctors who were supposed to be on duty and the dispenser, lady health visitor and nurses had been suspended from service. A departmental probe has also been ordered against the paramedics.
FOUND DEAD: Some villagers on Tuesday found bullet-riddled bodies of an unidentified man and a woman in a car thrown in BRB Canal near Daska.
Police believe some suspects first roped the couple aged between 30 and 35 years to seats of the car and fired bullets in their heads. Later, they locked the car and threw it in the Bambaanwala-Ravi-Bedian Canal near Satrah village, Daska tehsil.
Police said the bodies seemed to be a week old. Police are yet to ascertain the relationship between the couple.
The bodies were shifted to Daska Civil Hospital for autopsy.
Police are investigating with no clue or arrest so far.
EXCISE DEPT: The Sialkot Excise & Taxation Department has achieved its official recovery target set for the first six months of the fiscal year and recovered Rs235 million in different categories of taxes.
The official recovery target for the duration was Rs200 million.
District Excise & Taxation Officer Chaudhry Muzaffar Qayyum told newsmen on Tuesday that the department had registered 75,882 vehicles till December 2015 and earned Rs106 million.
