PPSC examinations

Published December 17, 2015

THE Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) advertised the Combined Competitive Examination-2015 in November. Its information desk is now telling candidates that the examinations are likely to be held in January 2016. The written examination carries 1,200 marks whereas the viva and psychological tests are of 200 marks.

There is no doubt that the PPSC can successfully conduct examinations in so short a time. What is beyond comprehension, however, is how the aspirants can prepare and compete successfully for a tough and prestigious competition in such a short span of time.

These examinations are a ray of hope for aspirants belonging to middle-class families who intend to excel in life on the basis of their hard work. But, unfortunately, due to their financial limits they have to work hard to earn a livelihood for their families as well as devote themselves to preparing for competitive examinations.

It is pertinent to mention that last year the combined competitive examination was advertised in May and the written part scheduled for October. However, owing to the devastating floods in southern Punjab, examinations were postponed for one month.

We request the PPSC to take stock of the situation and allow at least 120 days for study after the advertisement.
