Embattled pace star Mohammad Amir continued his rich vein of form in the Bangladesh Premier League with another dazzling performance in the Chittagong Vikings versus Dhaka Dynamites encounter on Tuesday.
Amir picked up 3/18 from his four overs in the match, but the most riveting moment in the clash came when former Pakistan captain Mohammad Hafeez faced upto the left-armer.
After dismissing Misbah-ul-Haq and Shahid Afridi earlier in the tournament, Amir came out on top yet again as Hafeez failed to capitalise on an opportunity to score some runs and according to some witty fans on Twitter, the 'Professor' did not even want to be on the same pitch as the 23-year-old 'spot-fixing tainted pacer'.
Amir steamed in and a sharp out-swinging delivery forced an outside edge off Hafeez's bat straight into the gloves of wicketkeeper Anamul Hoque. It followed three deliveries which beat the batsman all ends up. Hafeez's figures stood at 1(5).
Amir had debuted for Chittagong Vikings with a bang in his first-ever BPL game on Nov 22, returning match figures of 4 for 30 in four overs, his scalps including that of a rampaging Misbah-ul-Haq (61).
Hafeez, who is said to be among a group of players in the Pakistan side who are strongly opposed to allowing the spot-fixing trio to play for the national team again, found himself in an awkward position after losing his wicket to Amir — in what can be termed as a very soft dismissal.
The Chittagong Vikings match with Dhaka Dynamites was much anticipated as earlier Hafeez had reportedly turned down an offer to play alongside Amir's team in BPL, saying that he could not “share a dressing room with a player who tarnished the image of Pakistan”.
However Hafeez, who was overlooked by all five BPL teams during the initial draft, made a late entry in the tournament after signing for Dhaka Dynamites two days ago. The former Pakistan captain's limited-overs form was inconsistent during recently-concluded series against England in the United Arab Emirates and the 'Professor' is hoping his BPL stint can get him back into rhythm.

I guess the correct word for Hafeez is "Bamboozled". Aamir has served his sentence and although initially I was against his inclusion in to Pakistan national side but now I think he is too precious to be neglected. He still retains his form and honestly, we have not found anyone up to his calibre since the day he was banned. Shahriyar Khan Sb, I think its time to forgive the lad and focus on the bigger picture. Rameez Raja Sb, he tarnished the name of the country, (Not the first Cricket player do to so) let the guy redeem himself. Players currently playing should be more sensible and mature when commenting in media.

I watched the match live and was desperate for amir vs hafeez contest. Even the commentators were excited. Amir has turned the table over his critics and has proved to be the best bowler in the world. It really needs a lot of courage to rise after a fall. Disappointed by Hafeez performance in this match. He should have got the other batsman (sangakara) run out before himself getting out.

Aamir should concentrate on his performance only. After taking wickets he should not show his aggression, awkward celebration etc. because he is a culprit despite serving his sentence. He should respect all his senior players and keep himself calm and quite. Why awkward movement? Need to stop behave that we are the purest in the world and face reality that Pakistan comes on top of corruption list. Even we find cases of corruption in developed world and that they are encouraged to be rehabilitated after completing punishment. So it should be with Aamir. Hafeez is about 12 years old in international cricket (made his test debut in 2003). Playing consistent international cricket from previous 5-6 years (may be more). One day faces a bowler out of not only International but Domestic cricket for 5 years. And was not able to score a run against him. And finally got out in a silly manner. Wow! well done Hafeez. This shows how well he is doing. Sorry I just forgot his excellent running between the wickets.
And above is just about Hafeez. We are are not even talking about Shehzad, Umar Akmal, Shoaib Maqsood and others. Well done Amir.

The interesting thing is that Amir is also a better batsman than Hafeez! Of course, Hafeez does not want Amir in the team. Once you have a world class player in the team, people start measuring others based on that marker. Hafeez is scared that Amir will be constantly playing match winning batting knocks and make "trembling" Hafeez look like a joke. If I was Hafeez, I would do all I can to keep Amir out.

Without Amir, Pakistan couldn't have won the T20 worldcup. His bowling in the finals was classic. AND Pak cannot imagine winning worldcup with the current team and without him.

If Hafeez was such a moral custodian than why didn't he mind playing under his coaches Waqar and Mushtaq who both are convicted fixers fined by Qayyum report! Also Hafeez is very lucky to play for Pakistan for such a long time with the mediocre talent he got. Aamir is here to stay and I see this is the beginning of the end for Hafeez after making this senseless statement.

At the time of partition, many religious & political figures were against the division of sub-continent of India into Pakistan & India. They opposed Pakistan very openly. But, after the independence of Pakistan, they realized their mistakes & forgiven by Quaid-e-Azam and they became good citizens of Pakistan.
Why Not Mohammad Amir while the law is permitting him to play now ?

That does not at all change the dynamics and facts of "off-the-field" adventures carried-out overseas by the fast bowler and his two associates and other collaborators which resulted in defaming and shaming of the entire nation of 122 million people of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

I can't understand why lots of people are still saying "Amir should not be picked in national team, he has ruined country's pride...bla bla bla!!"
When match after match amir contributed in Pakistan win..those were less important? Just a silly no ball (obviously for lack of guidance from senior members) is so bigger for u guys than winning matches for ur country?

In the history of cricket Pakistan once got Wasing akram & imran khan. That's why u still feel proud for lifting the world cup. Another time Wasim akram took u to the wc final. But then? Don't u see the present condition? There is no one in pak one day team who can single handedly win matches. There are lots of OK type players. But where is sheer talent? Let alone Wasim, in present pak team no one has capabilities like waqar or shoib. But Amir? He can be someone like Wasim. Remember it before throwing him away..

Players like Hafeez and Misbah Afridi are players of yesteryears and future strategy cannot revolve around them, even in their best era they were not match winners like Miandad and Amir.

God is Merciful and Forgiving to those who repent.... who is Professor to say that he will not forgive Amir...people like Professor are the real culprits, bowling all those years with the wrong action.......You ain't no match with Amir.
