QUETTA: Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Mohammad Yousuf said on Monday that a modern conference hall was being built at the Haji Camp in Quetta at a cost of Rs40 billion to facilitate intending pilgrims.

Speaking at a consultative workshop organised by his ministry for the pilgrims, he said: “A special committee has been formed to address complaints lodged by pilgrims. People can submit their suggestions to the committee.”

He said the federal government had provided model buses and five ambulances for pilgrims in Makkah. Haj package has been reduced by Rs10,000 to provide relief to pilgrims.

The government would approach Saudi authorities for increase in facilities for Pakistani pilgrims, he added.

The minister said that the next Haj policy would be formulated in consultation with all the federating units, Haj operators, banks and other stakeholders.

He said because of efforts being made by the government the law and order situation in Balochistan, Karachi and Fata had improved.

Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Farooq Khan, and other officials were present on the occasion.
