WASHINGTON: President Ayub Khan will have talks with President Johnson on the 14th and 15th December, most likely at the LBJ ranch in Texas, it was announced yesterday [Nov 26] by the White House.

President Ayub is expected to arrive at New York on the 12th afternoon. He will address the General Assembly the following afternoon. Earlier in the day he will confer with the UN Secretary-General, U Thant, who will then be host to the Pakistan President at a luncheon.

President Ayub is also expected to meet the Afro-Asian delegations at the UN and will probably hold a Press conference after his address to the General Assembly. American sources said here today that the Ayub-Johnson talks were likely to cover the entire gamut of Pakistan-American relations.

[Meanwhile, as reported by agencies from Kuwait,] the new Ruler of oil-rich Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, was officially proclaimed head of the State by the Council of Ministers on Thursday night. He succeeds Amir Abdullah, who died on Wednesday. The Council of Ministers has declared 30 days of mourning for Sheikh Abdullah, whose daily income from his country’s oil-fields was 500,000 dollars.
