MANSEHRA: Mohammad Bashir, father of Captain Mohammad Usman who was killed in a Nato forces attack on Salala checkpost about four years ago, has said that he is proud of his son and if his motherland ever needed blood of his more sons he would proudly present them for it.

“I am proud to attend this ceremony held in honour of my son, Usman, and I am proudly saying that if the country needs blood of my other sons I would not even think and sacrifice them on my motherland,” Mr Bashir said while speaking at a function held at Pakistan Scout Cadet College, Batrasi, in connection with the fourth death anniversary of Captain Mohammad Usman on Thursday.

Capt Usman, who had passed his FSc from Pakistan Scout Cadet College and got commissioned in army later, was killed along with other officers and soldiers in attack on Salala checkpost near Pak-Afghan border on Nov 26, 2011.

“My son is still alive in our hearts and memories and when a phone rings we rush to receive call of our son without knowing he is away from us in heavens,” said Mr Bashir. The mother and a brother of Captain Usman also attended the ceremony and laid floral wreath at the memorial of martyred. Speaking on the occasion, principal of the college retired Brig Abdul Hafiz said that the faculty and staff of his college was proud of such brave cadets of his institution who had laid down their lives for the motherland or were serving at the forefront.
