ISLAMABAD: Six-day Subh-e-Nau National Championship starts at the Pakistan Tennis Complex here on Nov 30.

Subh-e-Nau chairperson Shahida Farooq said players could participate in five different categories (men’s singles and doubles, ladies singles, juniors U-18 and U-14).

She hoped most of the top players from across the country will take part in the tournament.

The tournament will carry a prize purse of Rs300,000.

Interested players can send their entries on following numbers: 051-4432194, 0321-7059269, 051-9212846 and 0333-5158971.

Meanwhile, the chairperson hailed the statement of Asian Tennis Federation’s president Anil Khanna to bringing international tennis back to Pakistan.

She said that international players of different sports are visiting Pakistan now and the PTF should also actively pursue to hold international tennis games here.

The upcoming Davis Cup tie against China can be a good opportunity as it will also give players advantage of home soil, Shahida added.
