Old man killed in jubilation firing

SHEIKHUPURA, Dec 26: A Christian was killed and three others wounded when bullets fired in jubilation hit them on the eve of Christmas in Balerh Kay village, some 15 kilometres from here.

Some people, after participating in their religious rites in a local church, were passing through a street. When they reached in a village square, some Christian youths, who had allegedly taken liquor, opened fire in the air. Bullets hit an elderly man, George Auton, Suhail Masih, Emanuel and an unidentified man. George died on the spot while the other injured were admitted to a nearby hospital.

POISONOUS LIQUOR: Six Christian youth fell unconscious after drinking poisonous liquor on Tuesday in Bharianwala village, some 12km from here.

They are; Gulzar Masih, Pitras, Dawood, Haroon and a woman Sharish.

MURDER: One Ghafoor allegedly stabbed his 22-year-old sister to death on suspicion of having illicit relations with their neighbour. on Tuesday.

ACCIDENT: Fauzia, daughter of Abdul Hamid, was crushed by a speeding car (LHA-3034) on the Sargodha Road near Sarkari Kalan.

In Jhabran Mandi, Yasin was knocked down by a recklessly driven tractor-trolley. He died on the spot.
