PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court on Thursday asked Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan to submit a written reply over his insulting remarks against doctors opposing Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Medical Teaching Institutions Reforms Act, 2015.
A two member bench of Peshawar High Court (PHC) comprising Justice Waqar Sethi and Muhammad Younus ordered the PTI chief to submit a written reply before November 12 to PHC chief justice, Justice Mazhar Alam Khan.
The orders were issued after a hearing on the petition filed by Khyber Medical College Teachers Association (KMCTA) and others.
During the hearing, KMCTA's counsel maintained that the KP Medical Teaching Institutions Reforms Act, 2015, is already under review by court and PTI chief Imran Khan has committed contempt of court by commenting over a sub judice matter.

Talking to media on Tuesday, PTI chief Imran Khan had threatened to stage sit-in against those ‘few unhappy doctors and management’ of the main teaching hospitals of the provincial capital who are a hurdle in the way of implementation of health reforms agenda of the provincial government.
“We are unable to implement reforms and bring change in healthcare system due to few unhappy doctors,” Imran Khan had said.
The PTI chief termed the elements opposing health reforms as ‘mafia’ and warned that they might have taken stay from court but PTI activists would hold protests outside their homes for depriving people of a reformed health system.
