Is this animal?

NO really, what is it? A creature which looks both like a crocodile and a buffalo has been found in Thailand. The bizarre animal, which has scaly skin and a long reptilian jaw, was discovered in the Sisaket province. Despite the crocodile-style body, the animal has the limbs and hooves of a mammal such as a buffalo.

Villagers claim the creature was given birth to by a buffalo, who previously had healthy offspring. On this occasion the deformed young died shortly after it was delivered.

Local news site Thai Rath reported: ‘Local people believe (the animal) will bring good luck to the family.’

Freak giant caterpillar with devil horns

THIS caterpillar looks like it has jumped out of an animated movie. But no, it actually is a real insect, it’s just absolutely massive compared to its other caterpillar pals.

And those gigantic black-tipped red horns stemming from its head aren’t too friendly-looking either.

The freak caterpillar was found in the back garden of a family in Alabama, the US. Despite its looks, the Hickory Horned Devil is harmless and, while those horns are prickly, it does not sting.

When this caterpillar is ready to turn into a moth, it changes colour from green to turquoise and then crawls down into a host plant. Two months later it will emerge as a regal moth, which can have a wingspan of up to six inches.
