PTI seeks Form-A copies to verify voter lists

LAHORE: The Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf has written a letter to the Punjab Election Commission seeking copies of Form-A along with attached documents that led to the transfer of votes from the NA-122 after general elections 2013 and till Lahore by-election on Oct 11, 2015 – in the wake of voters’ complaints received by the PTI.

In the letter, PTI Punjab Organiser Chaudhry Sarwar said many voters have informed the party that they had polled their votes in the 2013 general elections in NA-122 constituency but later they found that their votes were transferred without their consent. These complaints have posed a big question mark on the veracity of the voter lists issued for the NA-122 by-election.

He asked the commission to provide A Forms and attached documents that instrumented transfer of votes from the NA-122 constituency to rectify PTI reservations.

Fine. Please give them record: they'll not be satisfied. Then form a JIT upon their request: they'll not be satisfied. Finally IK and company will do dharna for which they are famous for.

At least PTI has created awareness among the public, who reported such anomaly, which PTI has the right to seek clarification & Form A is the first document which will expose any discrepancy. Good work Sarwar Sb.

Before going to Election Commission asking for transfer form, PTI have to provide the proof that these ppl have voted in NA-122 in 2013 election. For sure they cannot provide the proof of it.

@Larka The proof can be provided in the form of a written affidavit from the complainants. Their CNICs can also be used to show proof of residence and they can provide any other proof like utility bills, rent agreements, etc. This isn't rocket science. Votes being transferred without consent is illegal and has to be investigated. Those responsible must be exposed and punished. This is equivalent to disenfranchisement of voters.

Why doesn't the PTI make available all the CNICs it considers illegally transferred in/out of NA-122? It is extremely problematic that private information contained in A-forms should be disseminated to a political party. PTI needs to put of the CNICs and then a commission of sorts can cross-check with the ECP data (it can also be a parliamentary commission comprising of PTI members).
