QUETTA: Muhammad Ali, a leader of the National Party, was shot dead in Turbat on Friday.

According to Balochistan Chief Minister’s spokesman Jan Muhammad Buledi, Mr Ali was gunned down near his home in Balecha area of Tump town. Levies officials said that the attackers opened fire at Mr Ali when he came out of his house.

His body was taken to the district hospital by the Levies and Frontier Corps personnel for autopsy.

A Levies official said it appeared to be an incident of targeted killing and the killers had fled after the attack.
