KARACHI: The Pakistan Rangers, Sindh, and Karachi police on Friday decided to take ‘surgical actions’ against culprits behind the recent killings of policemen and devised a comprehensive strategy to meet the challenge, said a statement.

The high-ups of the paramilitary force and Karachi police met at the Rangers headquarters with Rangers DG Major General Bilal Akbar in the chair to review the investigation into policemen’s killings.

“The meeting discussed recent killings of policemen, reviewed all possible motives and approved a comprehensive strategy under which surgical actions would be taken,” said a brief statement released by the Rangers.

It requested people to contact the Rangers through cell phone messages over 1101 if they had any information about such killers.

Another statement issued by the Rangers claimed to have arrested a suspected targeted killer.

“Rangers conducted a surgical action in Gulshan-i-Maymar area last night and arrested a notorious target killer affiliated with a political party who is involved in numerous target killings in the city,” said the statement.
