KARACHI, Oct 21: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company admitted on Tuesday that thousands of telephones of the Azizabad exchange had become dead on Monday night.

During this time, load was transferred to the back-up branch without any interruption but while the fault was being investigated and measures were taken by the O&M staff for its rectification, a similar fault appeared due to occurrence of a software error on another branch, and caused partial denial of the service to the exchange customers.
