PESHAWAR, Oct 17: NWFP Chief Minister Akram Khan Durrani has appreciated Shell Pakistan for launching its Tameer programme in the country, saying that this would help reduce unemployment in the country.

Speaking as chief guest at a workshop arranged by Shell here on Friday, he said that increasing unemployment in the country was a matter of deep concern for the government and said the initiative taken by the oil firm would enable the people to overcome the problem of unemployment on self-help basis.

He also urged the local corporate sector to follow the suit and launch programmes for the people benefits.

Afshan Khan Nanji, manager of the Tameer programme, said they were full devoted to provide help to young entrepreneurs by motivating and encouraging them to start a business of their own choice.

She said the programme, launched in January last, was focused on the promotion of entrepreneurship among youth by developing their skills.
