KARACHI, Oct 17: The production of national identity cards at the polling station has been made compulsory under the law for indirect election.

This was declared by Sindh Election Commissioner Ahmed Ali Halepota for the information of voters and contestants of the indirect elections to be held on Oct 20 in Sindh.

He said that the presiding officers would invariably verify the identity of a voter through his original NIC. He made it clear that the photocopy of NIC would not be entertained in any case. —APP
