GUJRANWALA, Oct 16: A no-trust movement against City Naib Nazim Ehsanullah Chaudhry was passed by a majority of members of the house here on Thursday.
A treasury group Naib Nazim, Chaudhry Ashfaq Gujjar, had presented the no-trust movement against the city Naib Nazim on Wednesday which was seconded by another member Dr Aziz Dil. While the counting process was scheduled for Thursday at a city tehsil council meeting under the chairmanship of the Naib Nazim.
However, the city Naib Nazim did not turn up and the meeting was chaired by presiding panel member Mirza Jahangir Baig.
Out of 99 members of the house, at least 70 members supported the no-trust movement while Tariq Mehr, Hamza Butt and three other members opposed it, terming the meeting unlawful as it was chaired by a presiding panel member.
They hinted at moving the court under the local government act against the no-trust movement.
Meanwhile, city Nazim Babu Javed Ahmad said that majority of the members had expressed their confidence on him. He assured that uplift projects of the city would be completed on priority basis.
EYE HOSPITAL: The London-based Young Fellows Association of Pakistan will establish an eye hospital at Eminabad.
This was stated by organization representative Ms Z.A Naurin while speaking at a meeting here on Thursday.
She was included in a three-member delegation of London Bureau of Ealing. Led by Sardar Gurchrin Singh, the delegation met District Nazim Fiaz Ahmad Chattha and apprised him of the hospital project.
Parliamentarians — Imtiaz Safder Warraich, Mian Saudul Hassan Dar, Zahid Pervaiz, Lala Shakil, Naushera Virkan tehsil Nazim Sardar Tariq Raza and senior district government officers were also present on the occasion.

Judge Mirza Rafiul Zaman issued notices to remaining witnesses to appear before court on next hearing on Oct 25.
