PESHAWAR: Pakistan People’s Party, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, general secretary Engineer Mohammad Hamayun Khan on Monday said some elements were conspiring against his party at the national level but such intrigues won’t succeed.

Speaking at a meeting at his residence here on Monday the PPP leader said it was only the PPP which rendered matchless sacrifices for the sake of the soil and strengthening of democracy despite intrigues.

He said PPP workers had rendered lives and properties for the party and would continue doing so.

“It’s the only political force, which has always worked for the welfare of the poor, enabled members of low-income groups to raise voice for their rights, and opposed military dictators,” he said.

The Pakistan People’s Party leader said not only PPP workers but other young people too strongly felt Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would steer the country out of crises.

He said PPP workers were united under the leadership of Bilawal and that there were no factions in the party.

“The opposition parties have got worried about their future because PPP will soon gain its past position. It will emerge as the single largest party in the next elections in the country,” he claimed.

Hamayun Khan said it was only the PPP that gave workers the right to openly criticise leaders otherwise leaders of other parties did not have the courage to face criticism from workers.

The PPP leader urged workers to remove differences and step up efforts to re-organise the party at grassroots level as it would be in the best interests of the country’s federation.

He said Bilawal Bhutto was busy holding meetings with party leaders of different wings and areas to know about their problems and reservations and devise an effective strategy to strengthen the party at all levels.
