QUETTA: At least two engineers were killed on Sunday as a result of a militant attack on Jiwani aiport, near the Pak-Iran coastal border in Balochistan's Gwadar district.
Police sources told DawnNews unknown miscreants opened fire at the airport and killed electronics superintendent identified as Khalilullah during the attack.
The assailants had also kidnapped electronics engineer Mehmudullah Niazi from the airport. Niazi's bullet-ridden body was later found from a nearby area.
Police sources said that the kidnapped engineer was shot from a close range.
At least six miscreants riding motorcycles were involved in the attack on Jiwani airport, police said.
According to sources, security was not tight in and around the airport at the time of attack.
The assailants sped away on their motorcycles after the attack.
Police and personnel of other law enforcement agencies reached the site and started investigation into the incident.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
In the past, militants attacked the Pasni Radar Station in the region.
Balochistan Chief Minister Abdul Malik Baloch also condemned the attack and expresses grief over the loss of innocent lives,
He also directed the district administration and police officials to file a report in this regard.

i worked these kind of disturb regions as engineer ,most of construction worker include myself arm with gun . Trust no one and always consider in war zone . Most important we help local police and in exchange we found they were always big help. Don't leave everything on government.

Misguided illiterate youths are involved in the attack on the radar installation which was evidently not protected by the security personnel. The objective of the attack is to create chaos and fear among masses. The intelligence agencies will hunt them down and will bring them to justice. This is the last ditch effort by the terrorists to sabotage the peace process in the province. The law enforcement agencies need help from the public to identify these people and apprehend before they attack somewhere else.

Airports are most sensitive areas in any country. Some time back airports were under attack in different cities in Pakistan but the recent attack shows incompetency of our agencies and forces to protect our assets. We are so gullible and our enemy knows this weakness and this is why attacks are carried out at times. We have to develop and strictly implement processes for security. Unfortunately in all walks of life we do not follow processes and do not care of our responsibilities. Now the time is to wake up and do our duties with honesty or our enemies will keep harming us.

Our LEA(Law enforcement Agencies) dont want to work in Balochistan as there is no media backing their activities, they like Karachi and Punjab due to continued media presence and also they like to stay in cities as their businesses are there,it was clearly security breach but no one will question them as they are angels
