GHALLANAI (Mohmand Agency), Oct 14: Afghan militia fired mortar shells and rockets at a border checkpoint in the Mohmand tribal region on Monday night.

Sources said the Afghan militia opened firing at the Speena Bara checkpoint without any provocation. The shelling continued for about one hour, they said.

The sources said that Monday night firing on the Pakistani checkpoint was the third incident of unprovocative shelling during the last one week. The Pakistan army troops, however, did not retaliate.

MISSILE FOUND: The army engineering corps stationed in the Mohmand Agency recovered an unexploded Russian-made missile from a graveyard near Sam Ghakhi in the upper parts of the agency on Monday, source said.
