What a waste!

THIS is with reference to the cover story “What a waste!” by Benazir Raz (YW, July 11, 2015). It was an informative article and I was shocked to read about how we waste food (unknowingly)! Our parents earn after working hard and we often disregard it and waste their money and the food our mums cook for all the reasons explained in the article. The article opened my eyes and I am now more cautious than ever. It is my request to all the kids to be careful and try not to waste food, always take reasonable portions in the plate, no matter how tempting a dish is as you can always take more afterwards.

The colours of childhood

CHILDHOOD is the golden period in a person’s life. It comes once and when we get old, we wish it could come again and again. Childhood is filled with all the colours of the rainbow.

Hope, joy, smile, friendships, innocence, suspense, folly, naughtiness, fun, jumps and all the laughter are some of the beautiful gifts of this age.

We have no worries and no sorrows, we live in a strange world that is full of unique hobbies, like chasing the butterflies, cats and fireflies; decorating books with colourful peacock feathers, climbing trees, playing games, collecting the stamps and coins of different countries and collecting bugs in rainy season.

We love to listen and read stories full of magic, giants, fairies and mermaids. Childhood is a colourful part of our memory. We never forget it. So children enjoy every moment of your today because childhood is the golden period of life!

Back to school DIY tips

THIS is regarding “Back to school DIY tips” by Quratul Ain (YW, August 1, 2015). All the tips given on making notebooks, bookmarks or stationary organiser were amazing. I really liked them and also made a bookmark myself.

It looks so nice on my book and I agree with the writer that we should not waste money on buying expensive stationary items from shops, but should create something from our imagination so that we have something of our very own and which also unique and inexpensive. Plus you can save a lot of money this way.

I REALLY liked “Back to school DIY tips”. It was a fascinating and interesting article with great ideas to save money and create a healthy environment by using recycled material and homemade things.

So we should try to reuse things in and around our house as much as we can. This way we will have things that are unique and also save our money.

Get ready for school

THIS is regarding the cover article on “Get ready for school” by Ambreen Arshad (YW, August 1, 2015). It was a nice article and we enjoyed reading it as it was a reminder to all kids that the schools are about to start.

However, sadly, school didn’t open due to various reasons. We were desperately waiting for our school to open so that we start our new academic year with new teachers and everything new to learn.

I wish our country remains safe from natural as well as manmade dangers and we kids get the best education and become responsible citizens.
