Imran Khan still backs talks with TTP

PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan has again reiterated his stance that negotiations with the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) should be initiated.
“If America can negotiate with the Afghan Taliban, Pakistan and Afghanistan should also negotiate with them (Taliban),” said Imran while speaking to the media after meeting members of Army Public School (APS) Shuhada Forum.
Imran announced the observance of a minute of silence on December 16 to honour the victims of APS Peshawar. He also announced the formation of a committee to negotiate on behalf of APS Shuhada Forum with the federal government.

The committee would take up demands of the forum and will request the government to make December 16 a national holiday in honour of APS victims. It would also request the federal government to bestow Nishan-e-Haider on those who were killed in the attack.
Imran also highlighted the dangers faced by Muslim countries from groups such as the Daesh or the self-styled Islamic State (IS).
Imran Khan had said early last year that Taliban did not want to enforce Shariah in the country at gunpoint but wanted to liberate it from a US led war.
Imran Khan was one of the few politicians in the past who encouraged starting negotiations with the TTP, when other political leaders were strongly opposed to the idea.

Mr. Khan USA was an invader in Afghanistan and now they are leaving, any negotiation between Taliban and USA does not concludes that Pakistan should do the same. Taliban has mascarred 60,000 Pakistanis that includes children,innocent people and army soldiers, they donot accept the writ of the state, and want to have their own Stone Age system. The way USA treats with these criminals is to send them to Guantanmo Bay Detention Camp or drone them. Please donot confuse the nation again.

If IK is asking for negotiations with TTP there is something seriously wrong with his thought process . Here Pakistan is loosing hundreds of soldiers fighting TTP terror and IK wants talks.U couldn't have chosen a worser time Mr. Khan.
Will he please clarify which faction of TTP is worth talking to and which group needs to be punished for killing thousands of civilians. If he's so eagar and confident let him start talks on his own and show results. With each passing day I'm loosing confidence in his leadership qualities and have serious doubts whether he can indeed lead a nation. Politics isn't cricket after all.

I think Imran never verified casualties during US attack on Afghanistan, accordingto statistic,
91,000 (ninety one thousand) Afghan civilian and other killed in past 14 years. Where as in Pakistan, TTP and other militants killed their own civilian counting 55,000 (Fifty five thousand).

They either have no stance or they have failed strategy because they HAD their chance and guess what TTP is still here after good 13 years.
Imran Khan is simply bold enough to say it even though it maybe unpopular at the moment. Army is doing its job of eliminating terrorist but politicians also need to do their job to help reduce the war but all politicians are silent except Imran Khan.
Most other politician don't utter a world on this issue because of either fear of picking up fight with TTP or fear of people turning up against them.

The TTP & AT are two different entities. The article doesn't clear up which side Khan's advocating to negotiate with.

On One side want the day to be national holiday, and a minute to remember them but on other hand want to go back to 0 to give those murderers strength. How many more pakistani kids, men, women , leas will have to give their life before these politicians underatands it?
On other hand they say that ttp is agents of other anti pak forces, then how can you talk with them?
Us is talking because afghan taliban does hav something in afghan.

US did no loose thousands of her inhabitants in war with Taliban while Pakistan lost almost 80 thousand lives. APS tragedy happened in PK and despite of that IK is willing to negotiate with Taliban.

I don't understand why Majority of Pakistanis in Pakistan are so much against dialogue. It's the most sane way of fixing the issue. I guess the country is going through so much insanity, that sane options seem insane to the majority.
IK is a leader because he's able to foresee outcomes of our actions at present. That's the quality of a great leader. Negotiations are the only option. Because otherwise, 50 years from now, we will still be calling for bombardment. And at that time this disease would've spread everywhere.
I understand the emotion behind the 26/12. Think of it as the same emotion as Americans had after 9/11. The actions that Americans took after 9/11, were they correct? Today after 15 years, we have determined that they were not the right actions. Similarly, going on and on with this dumb war will be a mistake. Only a great leader can foresee it.

TTP is serving nato interests by destroying Pakistan in order to destabilize China. TTP will never changer her agenda as dollars are heavier than rupees.

The Taliban will never settle for a peaceful solution, it is just not in their blood. The only way this can be be eliminated is to educate the new generations and continue the war until the concept of Taliban is completely wiped out. This will take many years and lots of sacrifices. The present mindset of these terrorists is programmed for violence.

IK policies are different for Sindh, specially for Karachi.
he wants Army operation over there, he always support presence of any Rangers, Police law in karachi. He does not want Dialogue with Altaf Hussain (MQM) but he wants dialogue with TTP.

Taliban didnt attack mainland USA. the Japanese did, and they got nuked in return. the Taliban have repeatedly attacked every part of Pakistan and killed more than 60,000 servicemen and citizens not to mention caused a loss of billions of dollars on the economic and infrastructural front. if USA were in this position, they would destroy their enemy. that is what we need to do too.. obliterate those terrorists, without listening to their apologists such as this guy
