KARACHI: Mohammad Nadeem played a pivotal role with a wonderful all-round performance as Sojhla International outclassed BankIslami by 10 runs in the 28th Aga Khan Gymkhana Ramazan Cricket Tournament for the State Life Trophy at the AKG Ground on Friday.
The Dera Ghazi Khan-based team won two of their three matches in Group ‘C’.
BankIslami, batting first, mustered 119-9 in their quota of 20 overs. Captain Umair Rizvi scored 27 with three sixes, while Talha Fahim made 26.
Bowling off-spinners, Nadeem snared three wickets for 18 runs and Abu Zar took two for 24.
Sojhla International required only 9.4 overs to reach their target as they plundered 122-0. Kashif Bhatti bludgeoned 70 off mere 32 balls with 11 boundaries and two sixes.
Nadeem struck three sixes and five fours in making 52 off 26 deliveries to clinch the man-of-the-match award.
