Cheating is a disease

I WANT to bring into the attention of the concerned authorities and the government a grave issue of cheating during exams in Balochistan. Because of cheating, students lack knowledge in almost all fields of education.

It is not wrong to say that students don’t put forward their efforts and instead of studying, they are relying more on the cheating tactics in exams.

Thus when they pass their exams the degree they hold is not based on their knowledge or ability but on cheating skills. What will happen when these students get a job and know nothing about their profession?

The education system in Baluchistan needs immediate attention, particularly in Turbat!

The plight of the oceans

THIS is regarding the cover story “The plight of the oceans” compiled by Benazir Raz (YW, June 6, 2015).

The topic ‘oceans’ is rarely covered in any newspaper and I am glad YW did so in detail. It was a very informative article that made us give a thought to the current situation of the world’s oceans and marine animals. People are just destroying our healthy, natural eco-system with their carelessness and greed.

Almost all the points made us sad, but it was particularly depressing to read about ‘shark finning’.

People are merciless when it comes to their desires, just for the sake of some soup they kill hundreds of sharks every day!

It is indeed sad, they should think for the long-term consequences of their actions.

Whether it is offshore drilling, shark finning, ocean acidification, overfishing or dumping garbage and tomorrow we will regret, and our generations will suffer!

Danny and his glasses

THIS is with reference to the story “Danny and his glasses” by Kausar Javed (YW, June 6, 2015).

It was an inspiring story. It is true that most kids hate wearing spectacles as they think people will make fun of them and they will be an object of fun in their class.

Also, there are kids who even don’t tell their parents if they have any eye-sight problem so that they don’t have to wear spectacles.

This only makes their eye-sight weaker and they suffer until it starts affecting their daily life.

So I think children with spectacles should take their eye-sight seriously and shouldn’t care even if someone is making fun. Do what is best for your health and not what others want.
