Rehan spells doom for Acme Technology

KARACHI: Inspired by a mesmerising spell of spin bowling from skipper Rehan Sheikh, Rivo Mobile overwhelmed Acme Technology by eight wickets in the third Naya Nazimabad Ramazan Cricket Tournament at the Lawai Cricket Stadium here on Thursday night.

In a one-sided Group ‘A’ match, Acme Technology mustered a meagre total of 80 in 19.1 overs. Adnan Siddiqui was the chief run-getter by striking three towering sixes in his 26.

Rehan returned fine analysis of four wickets for 21 runs. Slow left-armer Faisal Iqbal lent good support with two for 12. Rivo Mobile sprinted to their modest target in just 7.4 overs. Hard-hitting opener Naved Malik was a belligerent mood, blasting six boundaries and a brace of sixes in a 19-ball cameo of 39.

Ali Waqas (19) and Zahid Mansoor (17) completed the final rites with unbeaten contributions.

Rehan was later adjudged man-of-the-match and collected his prize from former international player and ex-PCB match referee Naeem Ahmed, who was the chief guest on the occasion.
