PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party has urged the opposition parties in provincial assembly to avoid protest rallies over the issue of local government elections and sit together to devise a mechanism for solution to the problems.

Addressing a press conference here on Monday, QWP provincial chairman Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao said that Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf, Jamaat-i-Islami and his party had decided to form district and tehsil governments in Charsadda.

Flanked by the councilors-elect of JI and PTI, he said that their alliance was aimed at bringing the under-developed district at par with the developed ones and providing required facilities to the people.

Mr Sherpao said that the councillors belonging to other parties should also join hands with them in the larger interest of Charsadda district.

He said that PTI, JI and QWP could also form district and tehsil governments in other districts of the province to make collective efforts for the solution of the problems of people.

About joining the provincial government, Mr Sherpao said that PTI leadership had invited his party but the decision was yet to be taken.

“The office-bearers of the party have shared their views in a meeting and the top leadership has the authority to take any decision in this regard,” he said.

The QWP leader said that they always tried to raise voice for the rights of the downtrodden and oppressed people. For that purpose all possible steps would be taken, he added.

He said that popularity of QWP among the people was increased.

He claimed that vote bank of their party was also increased in the recent local government elections.

Speaking on the occasion, the representatives of PTI and JI also expressed the hope that the adjustment of the three parties would be successful.

They said that they would serve the people in their respective areas.
