Girls boycott exam over frisking by male staff
QUETTA: Girls appearing in MEd examination have announced that they will continue boycott of the papers to protest against frisking by male invigilators and called upon the government to take notice of the practice.
Speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Sunday, Bibi Ashiya, Bibi Zareen and Bibi Asma said when the examination started at the University of Balochistan the other day, girl candidates were shocked as male members of the invigilation committee, led by the controller of examination, started frisking them.
They said the girls reacted and boycotted the examination because the act was against Islamic values and morality.

The next day they held a demonstration to register their protest but the university administration called police which resorted to baton charge, injuring five girls.
They said they supported efforts made by the university administration to curb cheating during examinations but would not allow frisking of girls by male invigilators.
They called upon the Balochistan government to take action against the vice chancellor and the invigilation committee.
