KARACHI: Three suspected gangsters were shot dead in the city’s Lyari area on Sunday night.

Police claimed the gangsters opened fire on a police team when it reached Kalakot’s Afshani Gali for a targeted action on a tip-off about the presence of some suspects there.

Police returned fire and killed three criminals, said City SSP Fida Hussain.

Two of them were identified as Ayaz and Abid, members of the Comrade Sheeraz gang.

“They were involved in a recent grenade attack on the Lyari office of provincial minister Javed Nagori in which his brother Akbar Nagori was killed,” the SSP claimed.
