KOHAT: With 13 seats in the district council and 12 seats in tehsil council the candidates winning independently in Kohat would play a decisive role by putting weight behind either the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf or Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam, enabling one of them to form the local government here.

As against the claims made by the PTI leadership that women are the real force of the party not a single female candidate contested the elections from the platform of any party in the district.

PTI grabbed 11 seats in the district council election against JUI-F which could take only four seats, while the independents grabbed 13 seats. In the tehsil council, JUI-F remained at top with eight seats and PTI second with six seats while independents got 12 seats.

The PTI candidates who won the district council seats are: union council urban-2, Mohammad Iqbal; urban-3, Syed Karamat Shah; urban-4, Waheed Hayat; Alizai, Hazir Ali; Sorgul, Abdur Razzaq; Jarma, Mohammad Naeem; Kharmato, Azam Khan; Gumbat, Sajid Iqbal; Shakardarra urban, Riaz Iqbal; Sodal, Nazeer Mohammad; and Shakardarra rural-1, Jasim Sadaat.

The independent winners of the district council seats include urban-5, Dr Matiullah; Sherkot, Asghar Ali; Somari, Sabir Shah; Bahadar Kot, Al Hamid; Togh-I, Shaukat Khan; Togh-II, Babar Azeem Afridi; Dhoda, Gulzar; Ziarat Shiekh Allahdad, Dilbar Khan; Chorlakki, Iqbal Hussain; Lachi urban, Khanzada Mohammad Alam; Lachi rural, Fawad Khan; Mandoori, Nazeer Gul; and Khushalgarh, Abdur Rasheed.


They have won 13 seats of district council, 12 of tehsil


The JUI-F’s successful candidates on district seats are: union council Mohammadzai, Jauhar Saifullah Khan; Nasratkhel, Mohammad Ishfaq; Shahpur, Mohammad Iqbal; and Bilitang, Mohammad Faheem.

The independent winners for tehsil council are: urban-1, Javed Ahmed; urban-4, Pir Adil Shah; Sherkot, Gulshad Ali; Sorgul, Zameer Gul; Bahadar Kot, Nasrullah; Jarma, Ghuncha Gul; Togh-II, Habibullah; Kharmato, Afzal Khan; Dhoda, Akbar Khan; Ziarat Shiekh Allahdad, Gul Naib; Chorlakki, Mohammad Khalid; and Khushalgarh, Farhat Naz.

The JUI-F won tehsil seats from union council -3, Syed Zeeshan; urban -5, Umar Hayat; urban-6, Shahid Mehmood; Shahpur, Sher Zaman; Togh-I, Mohammad Haneef; Lachi urban, Niaz Mohammad; Lachi rural, Shah Muneer; and Mandoori, Momin Shah.

The winning PTI candidates for tehsil council are Mohammadzai, Khan Badshah; Somari, Wazir Badshah; Gumbat, Tahir Ali; Shakardarra urban, Riaz Iqbal; Sodal, Misal Khan; and Shakardarra rural Omer Daraz.
