Official sources said that almost all political parties had accepted the invitation. Family members of the victims of the Mastung carnage had demanded convening of the conference during a sit-in they held in front of the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.

Chief Minister Dr Malik Baloch accepted their demand and discussed the matter with the prime minister who agreed with him and asked him to make arrangements for the conference.

The sources said that the issues to be discussed would include the ongoing insurgency and other security-related issues.

The APC would work out a comprehensive plan to prevent Matung-like incidents in the province, the sources added.
