HYDERABAD: Fine bowling spells by pacers Babar Khan and Asif Mehmood as well as three centuries guided Hyderabad to a convincing win over Badin by an innings and 249 runs in a three-day match of regional inter-district (senior) cricket tournament at Niaz Stadium on Friday.

Badin opted to bat first after wining the toss only to be sent packing for a paltry 98, mainly due to destructive spell by Babar Khan who claimed 5-25. He was well supported by Asif Mahmood who took 2-27 and Nasir Awais bagged 2-10.

In reply, Hyderabad’s Darya Khan scored 104 off 77 balls while hitting 17 boundaries and one six and had a 130 run first wicket partnership with Mohammad Raheel who scored 39.

Later, Shabih Haider scored 123 off 125 balls with 15 boundaries and a six and Mohammad Qazzafi scored 133 with 18 boundaries as Hyderabad amassed a mammoth total of 447 runs to declare the inning in 80.2 overs.

In their second innings, Badin were all out for 101 to lose the match by an innings and 249 runs. Abdul Samad scored 41 with five boundaries and three sixes. For Hyderabad, Asif Mahmood claimed 5-22 and Mohsin Khan took 2-22.
