HYDERABAD: Lawyers observed a boycott of court proceedings across Sindh on Tuesday on a joint call given by the Supreme Court and high courts bar associations and bar councils to protest the killing of two lawyers by a policeman in Daska (Punjab) a day earlier.

Litigation process at all superior and lower courts remained suspended in Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Naushahro Feroze, Jacobabad, Larkana, Shikarpur, Kandhkot-Kashmore, Qambar-Shahdadkot, Khairpur and other districts.

Courts premises wore a deserted look as no litigants turned up and stamp vendors kept their businesses closed. Lawyers took out rallies and held demonstrations in almost all major towns. They raised slogans against police and condemned the Daska SHO for gunning down the two lawyers.

Condolence meetings were held at the offices of all district bar associations before the participants joined in the protest rallies.

The protesters demanded exemplary punishment to the killer police officer.
