HYDERABAD: Relatives of two death row convicts met them in the Hyderabad central jail on Tuesday. They could meet again today (Wednesday) for the last time.

The convicts’ black warrants were issued on May 21 for May 28 by the antiterrorism court in Hyderabad.

Jail Superintendent Zia-ur-Rehman said three hijackers, including Shahsawar, Sabir and Shabbir, all belonging to Balochistan, were awarded the death penalty on Aug 20, 1998, for hijacking a plane on May 24, 1998.

Shahsawar, 60, son of Haji Lal Mohammad Baloch, and Sabir, 40, son of Ali Mohammad, had been serving since 1998 in the Hyderabad central jail while the third was shifted to the Karachi central jail.

All of them would be hanged on May 28 in their respective jails.

The death warrants were issued after the president of Pakistan rejected their mercy petitions on May 12, 2015.
