KASUR: Two autopsy reports of a deceased person are creating a confusion for the court and police.

Dawn learned Khudian police registered a case against 13 people for killing Sultan on April 25, 2014.

Kasur District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital’s Dr Muhammad Hammad conducted autopsy the same day and issued Report No 49/14. The report says the victim had no bullet injury on the face.

According to a first information report (FIR) registered with Khudian police, Muhammad Ashraf shot in Sultan’s face and killed him.

Khudian police have completed investigation and challaned the accused.

Now, when Ashraf applied for bail, his lawyer presented an autopsy report, No 49/14, to the court. The report, verified by the DHQ administration, shows no bullet injury in the face of the deceased.

The DHQ administration says the page of report No 49/14 in the autopsy register is missing. A torn page from the original autopsy report 49/14 is attached in the register with page No 55.

Complainant Rafaqat Ali alleged the accused had got a fake one in favour of Ashraf.

On the other hand, Muhammad Ahmed, relative of Ashraf, moved an application with senior health department officials seeking a probe into the matter.

He said the first autopsy report had been obtained by the police, was part of police case file, and was present in the judicial record. He alleged complainant Rafaqat with the connivance of the hospital administration got prepared a fake report.

Medical superintendent Dr Muhammad Shafiq said as two reports had the same handwriting and stamps, Dr Hammad could tell which one was original. He said the missing of report from the registrar was a gross misconduct, and he would probe into it. He said Dr Hammad was on leave till March 4, 2016 and that the secretary Health ought to call him to thrash out the matter.
