Things named after famous people

THIS is with reference to the cover article “Things named after famous people” compiled by Ambreen Arshad (YW, May 2, 2015). It was very interesting and I really appreciate the way the writer compiled all the information for the readers of the YW.

Although I have read about many devices which are named after scientists, it was not in my knowledge that there are several scientific names of organisms which are based on celebrities. I want to say thanks to the writer for giving us such useful information. I also appreciate the work of YW for promoting knowledge among teenagers and elders too.

The value of a library

I WOULD like to draw the attention of the readers as well as the concerned authorities towards a very important topic, the value of a library.

A library is considered a store-house of knowledge.

It plays a very vital role in promoting the reading culture.

There are many students who love reading, but can’t afford to buy books and due to limited resources many people don’t have computers and internet in their homes. So a library will be of great use to them.

I appeal to the government and the concerned authorities to provide a full-fledged library in every area.

Word of the week

THIS is regarding the section “Word of the week”. It is a unique section in the magazine. Every week there is something new in it and I always try to memorise those words with meanings, this way my vocabulary is also increasing. I appreciate and congratulate YW for their great effort!

Young World

I HAVE been reading this wonderful magazine ever since I was a kid. Flipping through these colourful pages is always a delight. I find The weekly weird section especially exciting and informative and also 3 Bahadur comic has become my favourite.

I request the YW team to continue providing us quality articles.
