KARACHI, Oct 1: Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad has emphasized the need for an improvement in heath facilities in the province and issued directives to the concerned departments for practical measures.

He was chairing a high-level meeting at the Governor House here on Wednesday.

The governor impressed upon the concerned officials that by utilizing the available resources, they should activate all the small and big health centres.

He has also summoned the medical superintendents of all the government hospitals in Sindh at the Governor House here on October 8 to draw a strategy for coordinated efforts in improving the health system.

Dr Ibad directed the officials that an ambulance service be launched in Karachi as a pilot project and tag it with ‘15’.

He appreciated private sector’s cooperation in the affairs of the Civil Hospital Karachi and called for further boosting of public-private contacts. He stressed every possible facilities to be extended to donors.

The meeting was attended, among others, by chief secretary, the governor’s principal secretary and health secretary.—APP
